Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy) After 12th in Tamil Nadu 2026

What is Pharm.D?
- 6-year course (5 years study plus 1 year residency)
- Covers clinical pharmacy, pharmacology, therapeutics — more patient-interaction than B.Pharm
- Graduates can work in clinical pharmacy departments of hospitals
Eligibility
- 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics
- NEET score may be required — check current Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council and PCI rules
Admission process
Through Tamil Nadu MBBS/Pharmacy counselling authorities. Confirm through the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council for current year rules.
Pharm.D vs B.Pharm
- Pharm.D is 6 years, B.Pharm is 4 years
- Pharm.D has more clinical scope; B.Pharm has manufacturing and regulatory scope
- Pharm.D is preferred for hospital clinical pharmacy careers
