Engineering College Visit: What Parents and Students Should Observe — Manavarkal Tamil Nadu

Published: 19 August 2026. If you can, visit the college before paying fees. One hour of observation can save years of regret. Here is what to look for.

Infrastructure

  • Labs: Are computers, equipment, and instruments working and modern? Or are they old and broken?
  • Library: Does it have updated books and digital resources?
  • Classrooms: Clean, with working projectors and fans/AC?
  • Canteen/mess: Visit during meal time — observe food quality and hygiene

People

  • Talk to students without staff present: Ask them honestly about teaching quality, late fee demands, and campus life
  • Check if staff is present: Are faculty in their rooms during working hours?
  • Placement cell: Ask to see verifiable last-year placement data

Hostel

  • Visit the hostel rooms — not just the show room
  • Check bathroom cleanliness and water availability
  • Ask about night security and warden presence

Red flags to walk away from

  • Pay now, we will give receipt later
  • Aggressive pressure to pay management quota fee immediately
  • No working labs for a supposedly technical institution
  • Staff unable to answer questions about the course
