Engineering College Visit: What Parents and Students Should Observe

Infrastructure
- Labs: Are computers, equipment, and instruments working and modern? Or are they old and broken?
- Library: Does it have updated books and digital resources?
- Classrooms: Clean, with working projectors and fans/AC?
- Canteen/mess: Visit during meal time — observe food quality and hygiene
People
- Talk to students without staff present: Ask them honestly about teaching quality, late fee demands, and campus life
- Check if staff is present: Are faculty in their rooms during working hours?
- Placement cell: Ask to see verifiable last-year placement data
Hostel
- Visit the hostel rooms — not just the show room
- Check bathroom cleanliness and water availability
- Ask about night security and warden presence
Red flags to walk away from
- Pay now, we will give receipt later
- Aggressive pressure to pay management quota fee immediately
- No working labs for a supposedly technical institution
- Staff unable to answer questions about the course
