What counts as ragging?
UGC defines ragging broadly: any act that causes physical or psychological harm to a student by another student in an educational institution. This includes verbal abuse, physical violence, forcing embarrassing acts, and group bullying. It does not matter if the senior says it is tradition.
Your rights
- You have the right to report without fear of retaliation
- The college must take action within a specific timeframe
- Your identity can be kept confidential when reporting
How to complain
- Report to the college anti-ragging committee (every college must have one under UGC rules)

- If physical harm occurred: file a police complaint as well
